Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) may not be something you are familiar with. In brief SEO will help get your site noticed on Google and all the other search engines. There is little point in having a website if no one can find it! 

As part of our combined offer SEO will include; 

• Keyword Analysis. So that we aim your site at the right search terms.

• Keyword Density Advice. While we will not write the text on your site for you we will advice on how and where to include your keywords. Getting the mix between not enough and too much will propel you up the Google rankings.

• Meta tags. Meta tags are special text fields that search engines read to understand what a web page is about. Without them the search engines have to work it out, they can and do get it wrong. We will manually write the meta tags for all your pages.

• Robots.txt. It’s quite possible that there are pages of your site that you will not want appearing in searches. Using a robots.txt file we will make sure that the engines leave those pages well alone.

• W3C Standards. We will make sure that your sites homepage confirms to W3C standards. This means your site will look the same on any W3C standard compliant web browser. So it doesn’t matter if your visitors are using Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 3, the site will look the same. Search engines also prefer sites to be W3C compliant and being so will help your standing in the results.

• Sitemaps. Sitemaps tell the search engines what pages you have on your site. Normally Search Engines crawl across the web following links. This allows them to find new pages without being told about them. However this can be slow and often not all your pages will be found and indexed. Creating a sitemap in the required format and submitting this to Google will mean that all your pages are regularly indexed.

• Links. Many Search engines including Google judge the importance and relevancy of your site by determining how many other sites link to yours. Creating these links takes time though, time you can spend better on other things. As part of this package we can include creating these links for you.

• Content. In terms of SEO content is king. We will work with you to determine what additional forms of content you could add to your site. That may be articles, advice, video or maybe a blog. It’s our aim for the sites we look after to benefit from good updated content. As such we recommend that new (and original) content gets added to your site at least once per month. The more the better!
